egg came first

I mentioned my love for William Eggleston on a previous post about Spoon's new album cover. After starting photography and shooting my own work, I discovered his photos and was instantly drawn to how fucking beautiful his work is.  Known for his saturated and piercing images, Eggleston was really one of the first pioneers of color photography and discovered the dye-transfer process.  I'm not going to go too in depth here, but I will say that I totally respect his approach in shooting and his outlook on photography in general . I watched a documentary on him called, William Eggleston in the Real World and recommend you watch it (here)! He's frequently asked: what are you thinking about when you take a photo, how do you do it, what do you mean by such and such. Do you second guess yourself after looking at something if you should capture that? He just plainly answers (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Well, I just do it..." I think he's an example of someone who doesn't try to be something, (ie GENIUS) he simply and naturally just is.
